PDM College of Pharmacy on 9th January 2015 organized a seminar cum workshop called College to Career- It’s a job to get a Job. In a two hour long program co-ordinated by Pharma Buds, students from B. Pharma First to Final Year attended the event. The trainer for the program was Miss Arundati D. She works for a test preparation institute in Delhi and also works as a corporate trainer.
She started her 1 hour 45 minutes long session with introduction and importance of group discussion during recruitment. During this session she discussed about five types of mistakes during group discussion and suggested ways to overcome these shortcomings. She also discussed about the effective communication and its importance. Her humor filled presentation with live example kept students immersed in the topic throughout the seminar.
The two hour long program started with the welcome of guest, faculty members and students by emcee of the program. It was followed by the welcome speech of Respected Principal of the college Dr. Hema Chaudhary where she has shown her hopes for positive outcome of the program and suggested students to grasp as much as they can from the session. She then handed the microphone to the trainer of the day Miss Arundhati D.

In second portion of her session, she discussed more about personal interview. She suggested greeting interviewer effectively with smile and making eye contacts while answering questions. She told students to face mirror and speak to self by looking at eyes to boost confidence. She classified overall interview questions into technical and non-technical questions. She suggested students to gain as much knowledge they can from college and books to perform better in technical questions. While for non-technical questions she asked students to be wise before answering questions. Further, she discussed about most asked questions in interviews and in one context, she suggested students not to take name of any controversial figure when asked about role model in interviews.
In third and last fraction of her session she talked about components of good resume. She suggested including every minute achievements in resume so that it gives employer an idea about the potential employee. She discussed in details about each components of resume and gave her tips to better present them.
After her session, respected Principal took the stage to summarize the program and thanked the guest as well as all those attending the program. She also formally announced the successful completion of the program.
